Bringing People Together for Good Causes

Welcome to Purple Horizons, a volunteer-run initiative created by five local mums who wanted to do something positive with their time, energy and interests. Our aim is simple: to organise enjoyable, interesting events while raising money for causes close to our heart, such as Papworth Trust, ACT, Ormiston Families, Headway, MND (Cambridgeshire), St Neots Man’s Cave,RDA, Citizens Hub in St Neots, Black Cat Community Radio and The William Templeton Foundation for Young Peoples Mental Health (YPMH). Most of the charities we support are based locally in Cambridgeshire and across East Anglia, allowing us to contribute directly to organisations making a real difference in the area.

Local causes have received the total sum of £67,130 and Purple Horizons have achieved this by organising a varied programme of talks and events designed to broaden horizons. Topics range from literature, current affairs and history to wine, health and art history, with engaging speakers who bring their subjects to life. Alongside these, we host creative workshops and charity balls, combining learning, conversation and a fun evening out.

We are committed to using donations responsibly and transparently. Around 90% of all funds raised go directly to the charities we support, with the remaining 10% covering essential running costs such as insurance, website and domain name costs and ICO fees. These costs help ensure we operate safely, legally and effectively and maximise our long term impact.

Membership is completely free and everyone is welcome to attend our events. Whether you are interested in an informative talk, a creative session or a sociable fundraising evening, Purple Horizons offers an opportunity to enjoy stimulating events while helping support worthwhile causes. Come along, try something new and be part of what we are building.
